Sitting down to write this, I feel the weight and warmth of a year that tested me, stretched me, and quietly rewired who I am. 2024 was everything all at once—chaotic, relentless, grounding, and transformative. It was a year that taught me what it means to truly show up for myself, for my work, and for the people I care about.
I think I felt like I knew a lot more at the start of 2024 than I do now. Not because I know any less- but because my world is now so much bigger, brighter, and creative. It’s a feeling that would have made me combative a few years ago. Now, I embrace it. It represents growth and grace to me.
Here’s what I want to take with me into 2025 and what I hope, if you’re reading this, you’ll find useful too.
1. Building WTFund: From a Wild Idea to a Real Movement
At the start of this year, WTFund was just an idea. A messy, hopeful dream about backing India’s youngest and boldest founders. And now? We’ve built something real.
A team of four brilliant people who believe in this vision as much as I do. A fund that sifted through 5,000+ applications, not because it’s easy, but because we believe in finding the founders who need us most.
We didn’t stop at WTFund. We ran two other funds this year, learning, iterating, and building as we went.
Here’s what 2024 taught me about building something from scratch: you don’t have to know everything to start—you just have to start.
The clarity, the systems, the polish—it comes later. If you wait for all the answers, you’ll wait forever. The first step is always messy. And that’s okay.
Going into 2025, I want to keep leaning into the messiness of it all. It’s the best part.
2. Losing 20 Kilos—and Finding Myself Again
Somewhere in the middle of this hectic year, I met Prakash, my trainer. And what started as a commitment to “get fitter” turned into one of the most profound transformations of my life.
I lost 20+ kilos, yes, but the weight loss was the least important part of this journey.
I rebuilt my relationship with movement—learning to enjoy it for how it makes me feel, not just how it makes me look.
The biggest insight here? Progress is never linear, but consistency is undefeated. There were days when I didn’t want to get out of bed, let alone work out. But I showed up anyway, even if it was just to stretch or move a little. Those tiny decisions add up.
If you’re someone who’s struggling to make a change—start small. Start silly. Start imperfect. Just start.
3. Writing, Creating, and Rebuilding From Scratch
Writing has always been my constant, but this year it became my anchor.
I poured my heart into my Substack, growing it to nearly 6,000 followers. It became a space for honesty, connection, and thoughtful conversations.
I lost my Twitter account this year (a heartbreak I won’t pretend wasn’t painful). But rebuilding it taught me resilience and the value of starting over. I’m almost at 5,000 followers again—a quiet reminder that what’s yours will always find its way back to you.
Instagram hit nearly 45,000 followers, LinkedIn grew to 17,000, and I found my voice again—not just as a creator, but as someone who loves starting meaningful conversations.
The lesson? Rebuilding isn’t failure—it’s growth in disguise. Losing things forces you to focus on what really matters and who you want to be without the noise.
If you’ve had to start over this year, I hope you know this: starting over doesn’t erase your progress. It honors it.
4. Permanently Exhausted Pigeons: Turning Exhaustion Into a Community
What started as a tongue-in-cheek joke about burnout turned into a community that’s now 1,000+ strong. PEP became a space for people to come together, laugh, share stories, and just feel a little less alone in the chaos of adulting.
We had difficult conversations and had to face our own biases.
We reminded ourselves that community isn’t just about networking—it’s about showing up for each other in small, meaningful ways.
This year, PEP taught me the power of togetherness. When you find your people, hold onto them. Life is a lot more fun when you’re surrounded by folks who get it—and get you.
What 2024 Taught Me
This year wasn’t easy. It was full of hard conversations, self-doubt, and moments of exhaustion where I wasn’t sure if I could keep going. But here’s what I learned:
You Can Always Rebuild.
Whether it’s a fund, a Twitter account, or your own sense of self, you’re never too far gone to start again.Small Actions Add Up.
The big wins? They’re built on hundreds of tiny, often invisible choices. Progress doesn’t come from grand gestures—it comes from showing up, every single day, even when you don’t want to.Community Is Everything.
Whether it’s your team, your friends, or a group of permanently exhausted pigeons, the people around you make all the difference. Find them. Invest in them. Hold onto them.Kindness Is Underrated.
This year, I learned to be kinder to myself—to let go of perfection and embrace progress instead. And that kindness spilled over into everything else.
To 2025 and Beyond
2025 is going to be about scaling everything—our ideas, our impact, and our joy. But more than that, it’s going to be about continuing to show up, even when things feel impossible.
If you’re reading this, thank you for being part of my journey. Thank you for your support, your kindness, and for believing in what I’m building.
Here’s to a new year of bold ideas, big dreams, and small, meaningful steps forward.
With all my love,
Harnidh
