The one part I would slightly adjust for myself is to not "show up" as the changing person in the early stages. Meaning that oftentimes talking about doing the the thing will give your brain the same reward signals as actually doing the thing and will ultimately hold you back, especially when it's not a habit or routine yet.
So I've learned to wait for the first buds to show themselves before acknowledging the growth actively.
You're a brilliant writer, I just fell into a substack hole of your writings. This is what I loved growing up about reading, the visibility one experiences (the snowflake uniqueness one feels about being seen), one's emotions, anxities, thoughts summarised and presented with such articulation. I've been following your work on Instagram for years and I am a fan. You inspire me, it might be the new year high which I am a little weary of that makes me want to even say a statement like this but this piece and your other pieces inspire me to put myself out there and write even though I feel I've nothing to articulate, no new/old experience even in my own voice but to push through that fixed mindset and just do.
The care, the honesty and the generosity your writing presents, it is just really special. Thank you!
